In September of 2024, BRICK Magazine (Sam Butler, Hayley Louisa Brown, and myself) traveled to Memphis, TN to complete a documentarian-style project on the city and its contributions to hip-hop at large. I interviewed dozens of artists and constructed their stories into as-told-tos to showcase alongside portraits and environmental shots to bring Memphis’ music scene—old school and new school—to life.
